NEEDABOOST? THE FINAL FRONTIER OF THE CAR SEAT CONTINUUM: THE SKINNY ON BOOSTER SEATS

S eat belts are the bastion of safety in a car but when you’re little, they can do harm if they’re not positioned correctly. Enter the booster seat! Not the energy management seat you’re used to with the infant and convertible seats, the booster is all about positioning! The purpose of a booster is to simply raise the child up off the seat so that the seatbelt goes over their lap and across their chest in the correct places, so in case of a short stop, the belt doesn’t inadvertently hurt the child. The rule of thumb for booster seats is that the child is at least 40lbs and 4 years old. They also have to have the maturity to be able to sit properly without slouching or fiddling with the shoulder belt.

WHAT IT IS: Clek Olli SPECIAL FEATURES: Rated “best bet” 6 years in a row by highway safety; energy absorbing foam layer. SWEET SPOT: Easy carry strap and LATCH install.
