Another tip: just pay for the features you need. For instance, if you are installing in the center seat in the back, you might not need the telescoping side impact protection, but if you install on the side, that’s a key feature! Make sure your straps are snug! No jackets, footmuffs or thick clothing in the car seat (they can compromise safety). Install the infant seat in the center if you can - it’s the safest! When installing, move the front seats up to give yourself plenty of room. Use your body weight on the base while pulling the seat belt or latch belt tight. Be sure to watch some installation videos. We suggest the car seat brand videos or the Car Seat Lady’s! Mind the maximums: if baby is bigger than the seat suggests, it’s time to convert to a convertible!
